Drone photography and video for Tampa Bay weddings

A waterfront venue, a barn on acreage or a beach ceremony looks different from two hundred feet up. Drone coverage is a short, planned part of the day, flown by an FAA-certified pilot who has checked whether the airspace allows it.

When drone coverage works

  • A waterfront venue on the bay, a river or the Gulf
  • A barn, ranch or estate with grounds worth seeing from above
  • A beach ceremony with the shoreline in frame
  • A group photo of every guest from above
  • A highlight film that opens with the venue
  • A venue that has confirmed drones are allowed

What's included

Airspace check

Much of Tampa sits inside controlled airspace around Tampa International, MacDill and Peter O. Knight. Flights there need authorization, which is requested in advance or ruled out.

Venue aerials

Stills and video of the property before guests arrive and during cocktail hour.

Ceremony from above

A few passes during the ceremony, kept high and brief so the noise isn't a distraction.

Full-guest group shot

Everyone on the lawn, photographed from above.

Edited into the film

Aerials cut into the highlight film and delivered as stills in the gallery.

What affects the price

  • Whether a flight is possible at your venue at all.
  • Stills only, or stills and video.
  • How much of the day the pilot stays.
  • Venue permissions and any site fees.

Packages are priced in writing before you sign anything.

Flying drones at Tampa Bay venues

Airspace is the first question. Downtown Tampa, Davis Islands, Harbour Island, much of South Tampa and Westshore sit under controlled airspace, where a flight needs FAA authorization that may or may not be granted for your time slot. Venues in Lutz, Plant City, Wesley Chapel and much of Pasco are generally clear. Some beaches and county parks prohibit takeoff from the property. All of this is checked before drone coverage is promised, and weather on the day, mainly wind and storms, has the last word.

Common questions

Can you fly at our venue?

Often, but not always. Send the venue and you'll get a straight answer after the airspace and venue rules are checked.

Is the pilot certified?

Yes. Commercial drone flights require FAA Part 107 certification, and the pilot's certificate number is available on request.

Will the drone be loud during the vows?

It's kept high and flown briefly during the ceremony. If you'd rather, it stays grounded until the ceremony ends.

What if it's windy or raining?

The flight is cancelled and that part of the fee is not charged. Safety and the rules come first.
