Elopement and small-wedding photography in Tampa Bay
Two people on the sand at Fort De Soto, a courthouse ceremony followed by lunch in Ybor, twenty guests in a backyard in Seminole Heights. A small wedding needs fewer hours and more flexibility, and the coverage is built that way.
Who this is for
- Just the two of you, or fewer than about 30 guests
- A beach, park, courthouse or backyard rather than a venue
- A short ceremony and a dinner afterward
- A date chosen around a sunset or a tide, not a Saturday
- Family watching on video from elsewhere
- You want portrait time more than reception coverage
What's covered
Ceremony
The whole thing, from walking out to the first kiss, however short.
Portraits
The bulk of a small-wedding session, in the best light the location offers.
Guests
Group photos and candids if family or friends are there.
Dinner or drinks
A toast and the table, if the coverage runs that long.
Short film
A videographer can be added for a few-minute film with the vows in it.
Planning a small ceremony
- Pick the place and the time. Beaches and parks are best at sunrise or the hour before sunset, and permits get checked for you.
- Size the coverage. Two hours covers a ceremony and portraits. Four covers a dinner too.
- Sort the paperwork. Florida marriage licenses come from any county clerk of court; check the clerk's site for current requirements and waiting periods. The officiant is your call; we can point you to local ones.
- Shoot it. Ceremony, portraits, and the toast at dinner if there is one.
What affects the price
- Hours of coverage.
- Location and travel, especially to the Gulf beaches.
- Video added.
- Weekday versus Saturday.
Packages are priced in writing before you sign anything.
Eloping around Tampa Bay
The west-facing Gulf beaches, Clearwater, Sand Key, Pass-a-Grille and Fort De Soto, put the sunset behind you for the ceremony, which is why they fill up. Hillsborough and Pinellas county parks often require a permit for a ceremony, even a tiny one, and some beaches restrict chairs and arches. Summer afternoons bring storms, so beach ceremonies are usually set for morning or for the last hour before sunset with a rain date agreed in advance.
Common questions
How few hours can we book?
Two is the minimum that makes sense for a ceremony and portraits.
Can you help us find an officiant or a spot?
Yes. You'll get a short list of local officiants and locations that match what you describe, with notes on permits.
Can we do the ceremony on a weekday?
Yes, and weekday dates are easier to get on short notice.
Do we still get a full gallery?
Yes. A small wedding with two hours of coverage still gets every usable image edited and delivered.
